Dom
ACTING CENTRE MANAGER
ACTING CENTRE MANAGER
Dom has worked in outdoor education since he was 16. Dom’s core values centre around developing each and every person and encouraging everyone to reach their potential. As acting head of centre, Dom has an expert knowledge of all areas of our operation and would be happy to answer any queries you may have about the centre. In his spare time you will find him out on his mountain bike somewhere!

Pete
ACTING DEPUTY MANAGER
Acting Deputy Manager
Throughout Pete’s 33 years of working in the outdoor environment his experience has included positions such as Centre Principal (Essex), Corporate Events Manager (Lake District) and School Outdoor Tutor (New Zealand). Having been an RYA Inspector over the last 20 years, one of Pete’s roles is to visit other outdoor education centres and clubs, ensuring they are meeting the Royal Yachting Association requirements. Pete’s pastimes include sailing, where he races competitively. He also has a passion for rugby, and now coaches his local youth team. Pete has now been working at Fairplay House for over 24 years.

Jane

Jane has been at Fairplay for 4 years now and brings with her a wealth of experience from her years volunteering with Cubs, Scouts and Sea Scouts and as a sailing instructor for the Dabchicks Sailing Club on the Essex Coast. Jane’s previous role as a teacher of Art and Design is helping the centre broaden its work and approach to Outdoor Education. Jane is passionate about the Arts, History and the ‘Great Outdoors’. On her days off she likes to swim and race her sailing boat

Connor

Connor has been here for four years and has a lot of experience in many different areas. Connor previously worked in a school as a Learning Support Assistant and has worked as a sports development coach in local primary schools. He has also worked for two other outdoor companies. During that time, he developed many skills whilst working with children and has also gained a vast knowledge of outdoors education. Connor’s passion is cycling.

Demi

Demi has been working at Fairplay for 4 years. Previously she has worked as a carer for the elderly, a support worker for those with special needs and a youth worker for children and young people in foster care and regards herself as a people person. Demi is also an animal lover and enjoys spending time with her friends.

Tracey
BUSINESS MANAGER
BUSINESS AND ADMIN MANAGER
Tracey has been at Fairplay House for 3 years now. Before this, she worked at a local Academy for 15 years. Tracey thoroughly enjoys working at the centre but especially speaking with the children and hearing what activities they have participated in during the day.
Tracey has a large family and particularly enjoys spending time with her five grandchildren.

Kevin
SITE MANAGER
SITE MANAGER
Before Kevin worked at Fairplay, he worked as an apprentice carpenter. He then went on to complete a course in bricklaying at Redbridge College and has completed a plumbing course! He was a general builder for 20 years in social housing in Newham. Kevin has now been working at Fairplay for 21 years. Kevin is a great problem solver and says there is nothing he would not be able to fix. Kevin’s favourite part of the job is when he is able to go out on activities with the children, as it’s a welcome change of scenery.

Elaine

Elaine has been at Fairplay House for the past 27 years and looks after a great team in the kitchen. She prides herself on using local produce where possible to provide nutritious meals for all of our guests.
Elaine’s favourite part of her role is cooking great meals and catching up with the teachers that come back year after year.
Elaine also enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and bird watching.

Lyn

Lyn has been working at Fairplay House for the past six years. Lyn enjoys cooking delicious and nutritious meals for all of our guests. Her favourite part of the job is chatting with the children and hearing about their day.
Lyn is a busy grandmother to her seven grandchildren but also loves making time for her pet tortoise.

Deb

Debby has been at Fairplay for the past six years. She sets high standards in the presentation of all the accommodation. One of Debby’s favourite parts of the job is preparing the rooms ready for the next group and seeing the excited children arriving and taking in their surroundings.
In her free time, Debby’s passion is baking; she bakes the most amazing cakes. Debby has two dogs, two ferrets and 20 chickens!

Lou

Louise joined us in September 2022. She most enjoys seeing the children having fun and learning independence during their stay with us. The children are responsible for making their own beds, getting their own breakfast and tidying up after themselves. Louise spends some time chatting with the children about their favourite activities and says that a lot say they prefer archery.

Claire has been working at Fairplay House for 23 years, during that time she has been an important part of the domestic team at Fairplay House. Claire enjoys baking and says she makes the best Victoria sponge cake. Her favourite part of the job is chatting to the children and finding out about their adventures.
