CENTRE MANAGER

Dom has worked in outdoor education since he was 16. Dom’s core values centre around developing each and every person and encouraging everyone to reach their potential. As Head of Centre, Dom has an expert knowledge of all areas of our operation and would be happy to answer any queries you may have about the centre. In his spare time you will find him out on his mountain bike somewhere!

Pete

DEPUTY MANAGER

Deputy Manager

Throughout Pete’s 33 years of working in the outdoor environment his experience has included positions such as Centre Principal (Essex), Corporate Events Manager (Lake District) and School Outdoor Tutor (New Zealand). Having been an RYA Inspector over the last 20 years, one of Pete’s roles is to visit other outdoor education centres and clubs, ensuring they are meeting the Royal Yachting Association requirements. Pete’s pastimes include sailing, where he races competitively. He also has a passion for rugby, and now coaches his local youth team. Pete has now been working at Fairplay House for over 24 years.

Tracey

Tracey has been at Fairplay House for almost 5 years now.  She enjoys her role as Business Manager and working towards improving Fairplay House whether that be writing bids for the new roof and central heating system or working with Dom to arrange for rooms to be decorated to ensure that visitors have the best possible stay.  However, Tracey says that the very best part of her working day is speaking with the children and hearing what activities they have experienced during the day.

Kevin

Before Kevin worked at Fairplay, he worked as an apprentice carpenter. He then went on to complete a course in bricklaying at Redbridge College and has completed a plumbing course!  He was a general builder for 20 years in social housing in Newham.  Kevin has now been working at Fairplay for 21 years. Kevin is a great problem solver and says there is nothing he would not be able to fix.  Kevin’s favourite part of the job is when he is able to go out on activities with the children, as it’s a welcome change of scenery.

Connor

Connor has been here for 6 years and has a lot of experience in many different areas. Connor previously worked in a school as a Learning Support Assistant and has worked as a sports development coach in local primary schools.  He has also worked for two other outdoor companies. During that time, he developed many skills whilst working with children and has also gained a vast knowledge of outdoors education.  Connor’s passion is cycling.

Demi

Demi has been working at Fairplay for 6 years. Previously she has worked as a carer for the elderly, a support worker for those with special needs and a youth worker for children and young people in foster care and regards herself as a people person. Demi is also an animal lover and enjoys spending time with her friends.

Eleanor has worked at Fairplay for just over a year. She has previously worked at a variety of different outdoor centres around the UK.

Eleanor can often be found with a kayak on her shoulder heading to her next adventure.

James

James has been working at Fairplay House since November 2023. He has been working with young people of all ages for 5 years, most recently leading Duke of Edinburgh expeditions in Devon and the Brecon Beacons. He has experience working for two different youth charities, as well as an instructing at other outdoor centres. James loves getting out into the mountains, and anything involving food.

Claire has been working at Fairplay House for over 25 years.  During that time she has been an important part of the House Team at Fairplay, working across different departments. Claire is currently the lunchtime cook and enjoys baking.  She says she makes the best Victoria sponge cake and the schools agree.  Her favourite part of the job is chatting to the children and finding out about their adventures.

Debby has been at Fairplay for the over 8 years. She works on the House Team and sets high standards in ensuring that the accommodation sparkles.  One of Debby’s favourite parts of the job is preparing the rooms ready for the next group and seeing the excited children arriving and taking in their surroundings.  

In her free time, Debby’s passion is baking; she bakes the most amazing cakes.  Debby has two dogs, two ferrets and 20 chickens!

Sammi started working at Fairplay House in November 2023.  She works closely with school and groups who book visits to Fairplay ensuring that their visit will run as smoothly as possible.

Sammi is also responsible for the souvenir shop and she especially enjoys listening to the children deciding what they are going to buy.
