Safety and Accreditation
At Fairplay Outdoor Education Centre, we are committed to providing a safe environment for all visitors and staff.
DBS and Safeguarding
All staff at Fairplay Outdoor Education Centre have approved enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in place and all staff hold Safeguarding certificates. The Manager and two Senior Instructors are Designated Safeguarding Leads.
Qualifications
All instructors are qualified to lead the activities and training is regularly updated. The instructors have over 100 years’ experience between them. All Catering and Domestic staff hold L2 Food Safety and Hygiene and Allergen Awareness qualifications and have completed COSHH training.

Accreditation
All activities and the equipment used is regularly checked. Fairplay OEC holds the Learning outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge, Adventurous Activities Licencing Authority (AALA) Certificate, is a member of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and a Paddle UK delivery partner.
Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments
Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments are regularly checked and reviewed in line with the most up-to-date guidance.
First Aid
All staff have first aid qualifications in place. Instructors carry medical equipment with them. First Aid boxes are situated in the kitchen area, main office and manager’s office.
Insurance
Fairplay Outdoor Education Centre is covered by London Borough of Newham’s Insurance who have, Employer Liability Insurance and Public Liability Insurance up to £50,000,000
