Mini-expeditions are an excellent way to encourage planning, team-work and independence. Teams prepare for the mini-expedition by planning and plotting the course. They are then dropped off at one of the various Essex countryside landmarks and track routes with a map and have to find their way to a pre-arranged finish point.
Individuals learn map reading, compass skills, environmental awareness and group work. Staff can accompany a particular group if necessary and an adult/staff will accompany younger aged groups.
