Fairplay House Outdoor Education Centre is one of the longest running outdoor education centres in the UK with nearly 50 years of experience in inspiring and offering outdoor learning to young people and adults.
The Centre is owned and funded by the London Borough of Newham and consists of Fairplay House and grounds and the houseboat ‘Barge Haybay’.
Fairplay House, a former 1930’s country house, is set in 15 acres of picturesque grounds and has been converted into an exciting residentail facility. The grounds, with their purpose built outdoor education facilities provide many opportunities for outdoor learning, adventure and fun. Facilities within the grounds include a swimming pool, caving experience, high ropes and rock climbing facility.
If you are looking for an even more scenic experience then the houseboat ‘Barge Haybay’ is in a perfect location. The houseboat is a unique floating centre, moored on the picturesque Blackwater Estuary, sleeping up to 32 young people and adults in cosy four berth cabins.
At Fairplay House Outdoor Education Centre, we believe that the development of the individual is core to what we do. Through support and encouragement from our highly qualified and experienced staff team we are able help every person unlock their potential and move out of their comfort zone, all within our safe and controlled environment.
